July 2

July 2

Well this was a jam packed day. We started the day off with an information session at Colorado College followed with a tour of the campus. Beautiful campus and the block scheduling sounds like it will suit Tully's learning style. We had lunch in the Student Center. We thought the food was really good even though the Fiske Guide to Colleges says the food is mediocre. Tully had an interview after lunch. She has decided to apply for early decision, which means she will know if she is accepted by mid-December.

When Tully's interview was over we drove around Colorado Springs running errands. We had to find an Apple store in Colorado Springs because I left my computer battery charger at Lucy's house, Tully wanted to get a "Don't trust anyone under 14,000 feet" T-shirt. We also needed to get an ankle brace for my ankle because I stepped in a hole yesterday and twisted it.

We were finally able to get out of town and head to Leadville, CO. We stopped by the trailhead for Mt. Elbert to make sure we would be able to find it tomorrow morning in the dark. When we got into Leadville, we discovered I didn't have reservations at a hotel. Unfortunately for us there was a marathon race in town the next morning and there was not one room available. We started to drive north, even further away from the trailhead. Just when we were about to turn around and go sleep in the car, we came across a dive motel, but it was better than a car.
